Tinctures: Digestion & Anxiety

$13.00

Tinctures are liquid herbal extracts that provide a more effective result compared to powders or capsules. The alcohol (or glycerin) best preserves the active elements, are extremely potent, and enters the bloodstream much faster!

Marshmallow and Spearmint (1oz):

This tincture is designed to relieve heartburn, upset stomach, digestive ulcers, acid reflux, diarrhea, and constipation. The mucilage of marshmallow coats the inner lining of the stomach and esophagus. Spearmint is a carminative and helps treat and prevent nausea, vomiting, gas, indigestion and bloating.

Other benefits: Additional research has found that marshmallow can stimulate the metabolism (specifically the thyroid), is a diuretic (reduces water retention), and can also help soothe a sore throat and mucosa associated with the upper respiratory tract!

Dosage: Take 3-5 ml up to 3x daily. Avoid taking other medications within one hour of use, as it may impair their absorption. CAUTION in people with diabetes, as it may lower blood sugar levels.

Lemon Balm and Passionflower (1oz):

This tincture is designed to calm you! It reduces anxiety, improves cognitive function, and has a slight sedative effect that can come in hand when you need to sleep or having “panic” days. Lemon balm has historically been referred to as the “gladdening herb” or “heart’s delight,” due to relaxing properties that promote a sense of calm and wellbeing. This gentle nervine relaxant can help reduce stress and ease anxiety BUT has a TON of other benefits, like relieving an upset stomach (from stress) and PMS symptoms!

Passionflower is also used as a nervine relaxant and it also has anti-inflammatory properties. The German Commission E has approved the use of passionflower for the treatment of insomnia, nervousness, and mild depression. Recent studies have found that passionflower was effective in reducing emotional symptoms and physical symptoms of narcotic withdrawal (super exciting)!

Dosage: Take ½ to 1 full dropper up to 2x daily. Take one dropper full in moments of need. Consult your PCP taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs). • Do NOT combine with other sedatives (out of caution).
